Willow brook, Kilternan.

Kilternan Post office Nursery.

A Glacier scalped the headland from the scree.
Saint Tiernan stopped here and built a chancel.
Did sights like these inspire your theme?
You roved from Barnaslingan to Golden Ball
On grass-lanes to the far-flung houses of Kilternan.
At church, you were plied with old stories?
Remembering a flock’s hymn with an old harmonium
Times when mass rocks had no chapel of ease.
Close to the church-school and chapel bell
You edge lawns, trees, with boxed hedge and frames.
Your home soars above gullies and channels.
Through sash windows, from a big house stairs,
Look, you pruned an allee through the wet willow.
You gather your friends round an upright piano.

Remembering October 12th 2013.

Bobby Buckley.
